The talented midfielder’s current contract with the Merseysiders is set to expire in 2025, having signed a long-term deal in July 2020. 

According to The Sun, the Lions are interested to secure the services of the youngster and could make a £15 million move for him before the transfer window closes. 

Dean Smith’s side have already signed Danny Ings, Emiliano Buendia, Leon Bailey, and Ashley Young this summer. 

They have also secured the services of Axel Tuanzebe on loan from Manchester United for the 2021-22 season. 

However, they are reportedly not done yet and are eyeing a move for Jones. 

Career 

The England U21 international is an academy graduate of Liverpool who earned his competitive debut in January 2019 against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup.

However, as per Sky Germany’s Max Bielefeld, Moriba has decided to join the Bundesliga outfit over Spurs. 

The Catalans are reportedly demanding around £17m to let their player leave this summer. 

It remains to be seen whether the German club can meet the valuation of Barcelona. 

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Red Bulls opening bid for the 18-year-old stood at £5m and that hasn’t been increased yet.

This is the Gunners’ worst start to a season since the war, and Arteta must improve performances if he wants to remain in the job for much longer.

However, the London side looked no match to Manchester City who completely dominated the whole match. 

Ilkay Gundogan opened the scoring for the Citizens by heading home Gabriel Jesus’ cross early on. 

Then, Ferran Torres added another in the 12th minute to extend their advantage. 

Their difficulties further compounded when Granit Xhaka got his marching orders after his rash lunch on Joao Cancelo. 

Jesus also earned his name on the scoresheet on the stroke of half-time following fine work from Jack Grealish. 

Pep Guardiola’s side struck two more goals in the second-half through Rodri and Torres to claim an emphatic 5-0 victory.

Tuchel made two changes in the second half, bringing Thiago Silva for Havertz and Mateo Kovacic for N’Golo Kante. 

The Merseysiders had the numerical advantage but they failed to score any goal against the Pensioners. 

Chelsea provided a brilliant defensive display and ultimately claimed a point from the Anfield encounter.
