Arsenal interested in RB Salzburg starlet Szoboszlai

The Gunners are seriously considering the Hungarian prodigy Dominik Szoboszlai in January, according to Index.

The agent of Red Bull Salzburg starlet Dominik Szoboszlai has allegedly confirmed that Arsenal are interested in the 20-year-old.

The Gunners have been linked with a swoop for Szoboszlai for some time after he burst onto the scene last season, with the Hungary international already notching up five goals and eight assists in all competitions during the 2019-20 campaign.

Szoboszlai is also believed to be attracting interest from RB Leipzig and AC Milan, but it is the Gunners who have reportedly made their intentions clear ahead of future transfer windows.

The Red Bull Salzburg midfielder has been wowing scouts with his performances, and the Gunners could seek to sign him as an alternative to Houssem Aouar.

According to Hungarian outlet Index, the 20-year-old’s agent Matyas Esterhazy responded “Arsenal’s interest is real” when asked about it during a discussion at the Hungarian Forbes magazine offices.

With regards to Milan’s and Leipzig’s supposed interest, Esterhazy allegedly claimed that Szoboszlai would prefer to remain in a German-speaking league but added that Milan are now out of the running. Szoboszlai’s current deal with RB Salzburg is set to run until 2022.
