Tottenham set to terminate Fullback contract

Tottenham are set to hold talks with fullback Danny Rose regarding the termination of his contract. The long-serving left-back spent the end of last season on loan at Newcastle United, playing 11 league games for the Magpies, but has been left out of Spurs’ Premier League and Europa League squads after returning to north London.

The 30 years old played just five times for Jose Mourinho before he was sent out on loan to Newcastle but he has been frozen out by Jose Mourinho and does not feel wanted as the coach made him understand he is not in his plans.

According to Football Insider, Spurs are eager to get the former England international off their wage bill as they fail to find a taker for the left-back.

They could agree to a mutual termination, as his deal of £70,000-a-week which is due to expire in June.

His last action in a Tottenham shirt was a 69-minute run-out as Spurs lost to Liverpool in the league on January 11, and the arrival of Sergio Reguilon has pushed the 30-year-old further down the pecking order

It is possible Spurs will pay Rose off with a sum that is less than the total worth of his contract. Being a free agent would make it easier for him to find a new team in January.
