Tottenham Hotspur target Ilaix Moriba wants to join RB Leipzig

IlaixMoriba is currently one of the most talented youngsters in the football world.

He is an academy product of Barcelona who has greatly impressed with his performances in Spain so far.

The 18-year-old has the distinction of making 18 appearances across all competitions for the Catalans, with a goal and three assists to his name.

The central midfielder’s current contract at Nou Camp Nou is set to expire within a year.

His employers wanted to hand him a new deal but he wasn’t interested in extending his stay.

And so the Spanish giants are now open to selling the youngster in this transfer window.

Several top clubs were interested to secure his services, but Tottenham Hotspur and RB Leipzig were thought to be leading the race for him.

However, as per Sky Germany’s Max Bielefeld, Moriba has decided to join the Bundesliga outfit over Spurs.

The Catalans are reportedly demanding around £17m to let their player leave this summer.

It remains to be seen whether the German club can meet the valuation of Barcelona.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Red Bulls opening bid for the 18-year-old stood at £5m and that hasn’t been increased yet.

However, they may be prepared to fork out more after Marcel Sabitzer completes his move to Bayern Munich.
