Manchester United winger’s loan move to Feyenoord cancelled

Manchester United’s Amad Diallo was all set to head on a loan move to Feyenoord this summer transfer window.

Both clubs had also reached an agreement but the deal has now been cancelled after the 19-year-old picked up an injury during training.

The Eredivisie side’s director of football Frank Arnesen confirmed the cancellation of the deal while talking to Dutch outlet AD: “He got injured, it’s cancelled.

“Too bad, everything was done. I’ve talked a lot with the people at Manchester United, but it’s more sensible to let him recover at that club. It may be a while before he comes back.”

Diallo’s first-team opportunities look very limited at Old Trafford this season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having plenty of good options at his disposal.

The Red Devils completed a £73 million signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer.

While Cristiano Ronaldo has also now returned to the Theatre of Dreams from Juventus.

Amad Diallo started his youth career at Atalanta where he progressed through the ranks to earn his Serie A debut in October 2019.

His performances in Italy attracted the attention of Manchester United who splashed a fee around £37m to secure his services in 2020.

However, he has only managed to make only eight total appearances for United so far, scoring a goal and an assist in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).
