Manchester United are set to sign Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo after reaching an agreement with Serie A giants Juventus.
The Red Devils confirmed that the 36-year-old will make a sensational return to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.
The Portugal international was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City but a deal didn’t materialise.
Ronaldo joined United in 2003 from Sporting Lisbon when Sir Alex Ferguson was at the helm of affairs at the Manchester club.
His stint at Old Trafford was hugely successful as he won three Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy with the English giants.
The 36-year-old left for Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 in a deal worth £80 million.
And at the Bernabeu, he further swelled his trophy cabinet, claiming two La Liga titles and four European Cups.
The immensely gifted forward took up a new challenge when he joined Juventus in 2018 to play in the Serie A.
He won the league crowns in his first two seasons with the Italian outfit but failed to land the Champions League trophy at the Old Lady.
The Portugal international’s future at the Serie A side was a subject of great speculation this summer, with the former Real Madrid star only having about a year left on his contract.
Now Manchester United are set to secure the services of the forward, who struck 118 goals in 292 matches during his first spell at the Theatre of Dreams.
