Manchester United have joined the race for PSG forward Edinson Cavani. The veteran striker is out of contract in the summer and is one of the high profile players available on a Bosman transfer.
Cavani was close to a move in January with PSG pulling off the plug on a move to Atletico Madrid. According to reports from England, Manchester United are also interested in the forward and are targeting a move for him in the coming weeks.
United view Cavani as a risk-free signing that could make an impact in the Premier League. He is also seen as an alternative if the club fails to bring preferred transfer target, Harry Kane.
Cavani is considered as one of the top strikers in Europe despite his below-par performances this campaign. PSG have gradually phased the Uruguay forward from the team with Argentine Mauro Icardi taking his place in the first 11.
United have the edge as they can offer him solid wages in what should be the last big contract for the striker. Manchester United are expected to be busy in the summer with Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho linked with a big-money move to the club.
United are currently 5th on the League table and in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
