Everton keen to sign Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira

Everton have reportedly approached Manchester United for signing their midfielder Andreas Pereira this summer.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 25-year-old has sparked an interest in several clubs, including Rafael Benitez’s side.

The Toffees want to secure the services of the Brazilian on loan but the Red Devils are said to be interested in a permanent deal.

The Merseyside club haven’t made any major signing in this transfer window, with the Premier League outfit only bringing in Demarai Gray, Andros Townsend and Asmir Begovic so far.

Now they are keen to secure the services of Pereira to bolster their ranks for the 2021-22 season.

The midfielder remained on loan to Italian side Lazio for the 2020-21 season but failed to garner regular minutes at the Stadio Olimpico.

He clocked up 26 Serie A appearances last campaign, managing to make only three starts for Le Aquile.

The Brazil international failed to make a big impact at Old Trafford during the 2019-20 campaign.

Despite making 40 appearances that season, he only managed to score two goals and earn four assists.

The 25-year-old joined Manchester United in 2011, earning his Premier League appearance in March 2015.

So far, he has clocked up 75 appearances for United, notching four goals and five assists in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).
