Man City retain interest in Koulibaly after agreeing Ake deal

Manchester City are not stopping at Nathan Ake as they continue to shop for defenders this summer following some poor defensive display in the just-concluded season.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has stated the price it will take for him to sell Kalidou Koulibaly and it is ten million euros lower than the last time he was asked about it.

Koulibaly has been linked with Manchester United, neighbours City and Paris-Saint Germain, and last month Di Laurentiis said he “would think about” selling the center-back if he received an offer of €100m (£90m).

English sources had earlier reported that an agreement of  £40 is in place with Bournemouth for Ake. ESPN says even if City complete the signing of Ake, they could also sign one of Kalidou Koulibaly and Pau Torres. It appears both Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones could be surplus to requirements at City.

Pep Guardiola is not happy with how many goals his team conceded in the Premier League, especially in the early parts of the Premier League campaign and they are looking for a reliable partner along with Aymeric Laporte at the center-back.
