Egyptian legend backs Bennacer transfer to Man City

Egyptian legend Wael Gomaa has backed  Manchester City to secure the signing of AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer. There have been reports in recent weeks that the Etihad outfit are preparing an offer for the 23-year-old.

The defensive midfielder has enjoyed a productive season with the Italian side despite their underwhelming season. His ability in the middle of the park to tackle and his excellent passing skills makes him one of the highly-rated young midfielders in the Italian League.

Gomaa belives that the midfielder deserves a big-money move following his exploits this season. He also believes that Manchester City or PSG could be the ideal destination for the Algerian international.

“Ismael Bennacer is one of the best players this season with Milan. His level develops from one match to another in addition to his distinguished role in the team,” tweeted Gomaa.

“This one explains the interest of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain in him; he also has a beautiful future ahead, God willing.”

Gomaa is right about he Algerian capabilities and this summer is likely to be a busy one for the midfielder. Milan have yet to indicate whether they are willing to sell one of their key players.

PSG appear to be favourites for his signature with the Paris side said to be looking to upgrade their midfield this summer.
