European Champions Liverpool have reportedly approached Napoli for the services of talismanic defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
According to reports from Italy, the Reds are looking to make a concrete bid for the Senegalese ace as they look to solidify the backline.
Koulibaly is considered within the upper echelons of defenders in world football and has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent years.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the Reds believe that they can convince Napoli to lower their demands for the defender.
It is believed that should a move materialize Joel Matip is likely to be sold in the summer.
Another player that could leave Liverpool is Dejan Lovren with a host of clubs interested in the Croatia international.
Koulibaly arrival at Anfield could signal the beginning of an era for the Reds and will be the dream partnership alongside Van Dirk in the heart of the defence.
French champions PSG are also thought to be interested in the defender and this season is likely to be his last at the Italian club.
