Aston Villa eyeing £15m move for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones

Aston Villa are interested in signing Curtis Jones who is currently on the books of Liverpool, according to reports.

The 20-year-old has failed to make an appearance for the Reds this season.

He wasn’t even part of the squad in the recent 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Anfield.

The talented midfielder’s current contract with the Merseysiders is set to expire in 2025, having signed a long-term deal in July 2020.

According to The Sun, the Lions are interested to secure the services of the youngster and could make a £15 million move for him before the transfer window closes.

Dean Smith’s side have already signed Danny Ings, Emiliano Buendia, Leon Bailey, and Ashley Young this summer.

They have also secured the services of Axel Tuanzebe on loan from Manchester United for the 2021-22 season.

However, they are reportedly not done yet and are eyeing a move for Jones.

The England U21 international is an academy graduate of Liverpool who earned his competitive debut in January 2019 against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup.

So far, he has clocked up 47 appearances across all competitions for the Merseyside club, scoring seven goals and creating six assists in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).

Last season, the 20-year-old made 34 total appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side, with four goals to his name.
