Sheffield United want to sign Ex-Chelsea star Willy Caballero

Sheffield United is interested in signing Willy Caballero this summer transfer window, according to The Sun

They have sold Aaron Ramsdale to Arsenal and are looking for a replacement in the market.

It is said that the Blades have started talks with the 39-year-old Argentine footballer over a move to Bramall Lane.

The experienced goalkeeper left Chelsea earlier this summer and is currently a free agent.

He managed to make only two appearances for the Blues last season, with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy ahead of him in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Sheffield United were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2020-21 season, after securing only 23 points from 38 matches.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side have made a terrible start to the Championship campaign, managing only two points from five league games so far.

With the transfer window set to close on August 31st, the Blades will try to add another keeper to bolster their ranks for the season.

The South Yorkshire outfit were targeting QPR’s Seny Dieng, but he is now thought to be too expensive for them.

Caballero joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 on a free transfer.

He clocked up 38 appearances across all competitions for the Pensioners, earning 14 clean sheets to his name.
