Chelsea are looking forward to signing RB Leipzig hotshot, Timo Werner, as the Premier League giants look to strengthen their side in the summer transfer window.
Frank Lampard has manoeuvred the season without any new arrivals. Chelsea were banned from signing new players. A decision that was rescinded at Court of Arbitration for Sport, CAS, in December thereby opening the window to bring in players in January.
The initial ban given to Chelsea was a two-window ban before the decision was halved at CAS. The January window came, and Chelsea were unable to add a new player. The decision that frustrates manager Frank Lampard, who stated his side is now at a disadvantage against other clubs competing for the top four.
One name that has refused to leave the headlines is Timo Werner. Chelsea are very keen to add Timo Werner to the squad in summer.
Tammy Abraham has been impressive so far with 14 goals in the League. The England international is currently nursing an injury and he is not expected to return to action till late march.
But reports suggest that Frank is an admirer of Werner’s qualities and he is prepared to bring him in to provide competition for Tammy Abraham.
Timo Werner is undoubtedly one of Europe’s best strikers at the moment, with 27 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
