Aubameyang close to signing new three-year Arsenal deal

Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will stay at the club. The Gunners are hoping to secure the Gabon striker, who has less than a year left on his contract and are reportedly close to agreeing a new three-year deal with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The report states that Arsenal are drawing up the final contract proposal for the 31-year-old to sign after positive talks during which verbal promises were made.

Aubameyang’s new deal is set to be worth £250,000 a week and will also include significant bonuses.

The Gabon international is set to commit his future to Arsenal after being finally assured that the club will strengthen their squad during the transfer window.

Arsenal are eager to tie Aubameyang down to a new deal, with the 31-year-old a crucial part of Mikel Arteta’s side having helped them win their 14th FA Cup which automatically secured their Europa League participation for next season.

Since the striker joined from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, Aubameyang has scored 70 goals in 109 games for Arsenal.

Although he is most suited to playing up front, Aubameyang has often been deployed on the left-wing under Arteta and he scored an impressive 22 goals in 36 Premier League games this campaign. Aubameyang has been linked to Barcelona, Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid.
