Arsenal set to complete £30m transfer for Real Madrid’s Martin Odegaard

Arsenal are on the verge of striking an agreement with Real Madrid over Martin Odegaard’s transfer, according to reports.

The 22-year-old was on loan at the Gunners during the second half of last season and impressed with his performances in London.

Spanish boss Mikel Arteta wants to sign a playmaker as he aims to finish in the Top Four by the end of the season.

The Premier League outfit opened dialogue with Los Blancos over a permanent deal for the Norwegian earlier this transfer window.

And now as per the Daily Mail, the London side are about to reach an agreement on a deal worth around £30 million for the young footballer.

It is said that the deal has reached advanced stages and the 22-year-old is set to return to the Emirates Stadium in the coming days.

The Norway international was absent from Real’s training session this week while the two clubs were in discussions over a deal.

It is said that a move could be completed soon to allow him to play for the Gunners’ upcoming match against Chelsea.

Mikel Arteta’s side were also linked with a move for Leicester City’s James Maddison, but signing Odegaard would mean they won’t go for the 24-year-old English footballer now.
