Arsenal are said to have accepted defeat in their attempts to hold on to star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club and are now determined to sell the player this summer.
Aubameyang, 30, has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and Inter. The Gabonese international will complete the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium this summer.
The club is reluctant to let him walk away for free. Arsenal have lost quality players for free in the past. Most recently, Aron Ramsey left the Emirates stadium for free to join Turin giants Juventus last summer.
The club does want the same scenario to come up with Aubameyang, and they are ready to listen to offers for the player.
According to reports, Aubameyang is seriously considering the possibility of Arsenal not making the Champions League again at the end of the season.
Sources close to the player revealed that Aubameyang wants consistent Champions League football, and with Arsenal 9th in the table, it is most likely the club cannot offer him that avenue next season.
Arsenal will demand at least €55m (around £52m) to part ways with their forward this summer. He’s 30, and will have only a year left on his contract at the end of the season. So his value can only go so high.
