Arsenal outcast wants Roma transfer

Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly keen on staying at Roma on a permanent basis. Reports from Italy claim that the Italian side wants to seal a permanent move for the playmaker who has impressed since making a loan move last summer.

It is understood that there is no buyout clause attached to his existing contract and Roma would have to reach an agreement with Arsenal for a transfer fee.

Mkhitaryan also recently confirmed his wish to remain at the Italian capital in a recent podcast with Grant Wahl. “Of course I would like to be at Roma next season, not only next season [but] for another few years,”

He further revealed that he was powerless with regards to influencing the transfer and he would not be overly disappointed if a move fails to materialise.

“Of course, if I’m not going to stay at Roma I have to go back to Arsenal. I’m not complaining, football life changes so quickly so you have to be ready to play wherever you are.

“If not in Rome, I’m going to go back and play for Arsenal, if not, I’m going to stay here and play for Rome.”

Arsenal are thought to be open to selling the forward and Roma are expected to reach an agreement in the coming weeks.
