Arsenal have taken the lead in the pursuit for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic.
Accordingto reports from Italy, the Gunners have overtaken Milan and Napoli in the race for the forward.
Jovic has endured an underwhelming debut season in Spain with the Serbian failing to dislodge Karim Benzema from the first team.
Real Madrid are looking to cut their losses by selling the forward in the summer and this has attracted a host of clubs.
Italian giants Milan had been thought to be the front-runner for the 22 year old as they look for a centre forward to lead the lines ahead of next season.
However it is understood that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has identified Jovic as one that could replace wantaway forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club.
Aubameyang has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Jovic could be used as a lightweight for the transfer.
Arsenal are also financially stable and can outbid Milan and Napoli for the signature of the 22 year old.
