Manchester City to offer new contract to Phil Foden

Manchester City recently confirmed the signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in a transfer deal worth £100 million.

And then just five days later, the Citizens decided to reward the amazing performances of John Stones by handing him a new contract.

And now as per Goal.com, the Premier League giants are ready to offer new deals to several first-team players, including their highly talented midfielder Phil Foden.

The 21-year-old has been impressive for the Sky Blues in the previous couple of years.

He has established himself as an important member of Pep Guardiola’s squad after making his senior debut in November 2017.

Last season, the Stockport-born footballer clocked up 50 appearances across all competitions for the Citizens, helping them win the Premier League title and reach the Champions League final.

His contributions to the successes of his team saw him winning the PFA Young Player of the Year.

The immensely talented midfielder subsequently received a call-up to the England squad for Euro 2020.

He made three appearances for Gareth Southgate’s side before suffering an injury ahead of the Three Lions’ final against Italy.

The England international still has three years remaining on his current contract at the Etihad Stadium, having signed a six-year deal in 2018.

Considering the impressive performances of the 21-year-old, Pep Guardiola’s side look to be making a very good decision by handing him a new contract.
