Guardiola defends his club after Mourinho comments on City documentary

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has defended his club following Jose Mourinho’s criticism of the Premier League champions’ recently-released documentary All Or Nothing.

Mourinho was asked on Friday about his thoughts on the 8-part documentary on City’s record-breaking 2017-18 campaign for Amazon Prime All Or Nothing.

“You can be a rich club and buy the best players in the world but you cannot buy class and they showed that clearly,” said the United boss.

But when asked about Mourinho’s comments following City’s fantastic 6-1 victory over Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, Guardiola defended the series, but he gave a very diplomatic response.

“That is true, you cannot buy class. I agree with Jose. We cannot buy class,” said the Spaniard.

“I think we lived an amazing season with cameras. We did it for ourselves. I don’t agree with Jose in terms of disrespectful. This was not our intention – it was to film last season.

“It is a club trying to grow, trying to win titles, like all the big teams in the world.

“We did it for ourselves and our fans to see what happens inside the locker room. It is Jose’s opinion. Other guys will say, ‘We like’ and other guys will say, ‘No’.”
